If you need to cancel your tour reservations, for any reason, our cancellation deadlines are as follows:
General cancellation policy for Adventures, see bottom of page for single day and shorter adventure cancellation policies. If you need to cancel your adventure for any reason, your request must be in writing - email is sufficient (no phone cancellations will be accepted).
Up until 45 days prior to adventure Full Payment minus 10% processing fee
44-31 days prior to adventure 50% of your payments
30-15 days prior to adventure 15% of your payments
14-0 days prior adventure No Refund
*There is no partial refund for starting a tour late or leaving a trip early.
In order to keep our tours affordable and provide proper notice to our lodging partners, we must adhere to this timeline, no exceptions. After our refund deadline has passed we cannot provide a refund for any reason, including circumstances beyond your control such as weather-related travel delays, family emergency, or injury. There is also no partial refund if you arrive late to your tour, or depart early. Insurance agencies however, offer a full or partial refund in many circumstances if you purchase travel insurance to cover your tour.
We encourage you very strongly to purchase travel insurance to protect against extenuating circumstances such as illness and injury- believe us, they do come up!
If a business or personal emergency should cause you to not be able to take the adventure you signed up for, you may transfer to another Self-Propelled Adventure. You may transfer to any trip of equal or greater value (balance of greater value due at time of transfer), for which space is available and scheduled to depart within 12 months of the trip you originally signed up for. If you inform us of your need to transfer 31 days or more before the start of the original trip, there is no charge for transferring all your payments to another Adventure. Transfers made 30 days or fewer in advance will be considered a cancellation, and our standard cancellation policy will apply.
Self-Propelled Adventures will send you a confirmation email once your adventure is confirmed, it will not be cancelled for low-enrollment, but in rare cases may be cancelled due to weather, government intervention, unsafe trail conditions, or any other reason that would affect the quality of the schedule tour or the safety of its participants. If we are forced to cancel your tour, we will provide a 100% refund or work to add you to another trip that works for you.
We advise you to avoid non-refundable flights and other travel arrangements, and are not responsible for the costs of such arrangement in the event your adventure is canceled. Please note adventure itineraries and descriptions provided prior to your trip provide an overview of our standard adventure. Your adventure may differ somewhat from this sample based on lodging availability, participant skill levels and interest, weather conditions, and other factors. Guides will work with guests to craft the best possible tour experience for the entire group.

Single-Day and Half-Day Adventures:
If you need to cancel or change your reservation for any reason, you must give us 24 hours notice by phone call (we do not monitor our email 24 hours a day). Adventures canceled before 24 hours will receive a refund of the full payment minus 25% or full payment applied to another Adventure of equal or greater value (balance of greater value due at time of transfer). A no call, no show will be charged the full amount of the adventure for everyone booked.
No refunds will be given. You may transfer to another Mini-Adventure within 7 days at no additional charge. A no call, no show will be charged the full amount of the adventure for everyone booked.
